Kilcormac parade gets royal seal of approval

A royal wedding, two lots of Chilean miners, a mobile rambling house and a tribute to Aer Lingus which included a by-plane were just some of the superb floats at the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in Kilcormac.

A royal wedding, two lots of Chilean miners, a mobile rambling house and a tribute to Aer Lingus which included a by-plane were just some of the superb floats at the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in Kilcormac.

The streets were lined with spectators as the parade made its way up the main street from the GAA pitch to the square.

A large selection of vintage cars lead the way followed by vintage tractors and an array of motorbikes and quads.

The Mountbolus Pipe Band provided the musical entertainment while a large number of local sports groups, dance troupes and sporting organisations also participated.

However it was the large number of large excellent floats which stole the show with a mysterious moving tree receiving more than one glance from most of the spectators.
