LOCAL artist Maura Fahy held her annual exhibition in the Tullamore Court Hotel last weekend.
Entitled ‘A Midland Glimpse’, the exhibition features abstract paintings that capture the various minute features of our natural surroundings in the midlands; from the many rare plants and animals of the boglands to the rich tapestry of natural elements in our forests.
Maura draws inspiration from places where secrets of our past lay perfectly preserved for thousands of years waiting to be discovered. She attempts to unlock these secrets by painting familiar places and turning them into timeless landscapes whilst shrouding them in a veil of mystery.
Through this exhibition, Maura continues to reinvigorate people’s connection with the environment, on which we are so dependent.
The exhibition was officially opened on Friday evening last by Cllr Molly Buckley.
If you are interested in seeing Maura’s art in person, she can be contacted on 086 3166891 and also by email on info@papillonartstudio.com
