The glittering event at Daingean Town Hall was a resounding success and a sell-out much to the delight of Festival Chairperson Joe Lynch and his committee.

A lot of work went into ensuring the success of the show and the committee would like to thank all who contributed in any way.

Among the clothes shops that participated were - Dunnes Stores, Bridge Centre Tullamore; J ‘n’ D Fashions Edenderry; McGreals Edenderry; Jack and Jones, Bridge Centre Tullamore; Menarys Tullamore, Dunnes Stores sportswear Edenderry, Mary and Marie’s with Classy Cloggs Edenderry, and Guy Clothing Bridge Centre Tullamore.

Raffle prizes were sponsored by Ryan’s Pharmacy Daingean, Avon, Mags Barbers, Gildea’s Pharmacy, Ogra, Head to Toe, Revlon, O’Donovan’s Pharmacy Tullamore, Tommy Clarke’s Barbers, Michael O’Rourke Tullamore Carpets (who supplied the red carpet) and Annette McNamee from the Garden Centre in Daingean.

Brendan Darcy (Blackthorn Pub) worked tirelessly on the sound system, music and lighting for the show. Ger Brennan helped with setting up the town hall and thanks were extended to the crew who erected the stage and catwalk, the ladies who served refreshments during the interval, Donal Walsh for sponsoring a prize of a weekend away and also the MC’s Ann Corcoran and Pat McEvoy.

Mr Lynch said the models were extremely patient backstage and he added, “The young children who modelled were amazing. Thanks to Roisin O’Reilly, Siobhan Carey and Claire Bracken for styling the models hair and Elaine Behan expertly applied the make-up.”

The Chairperson concluded, “There were so many people who helped out, it is impossible to mention them all, but everyone’s contribution big or small was greatly appreciated.”

Draw winners: 1st (weekend away) Mary Murray, 2nd (designer handbag from McGreal’s) Josephine Hanley, 3rd (€100 voucher from Heaven’s Above, Edenderry) Emma Hynan.
