DAINGEAN’S Paddy O’Brien recently (pictured) received the Gradam Ceoil TG4 Traditional Music award for Composer of the Year and the presentation ceremony will be broadcast on TG4 this Easter Sunday night, April 8 at 9.30pm.
The best of Irish music from the UK, the US and home will feature in the annual Gradam Ceoil TG4 traditional music awards show presented from University Concert Hall Limerick by Aoife Ní Thuairisg and Páidí Ó Lionáird.
Bryan Rooney will be presented with the Gradam Ceoil TG4 Traditional Musician of the year award, while also receiving awards were Danny Meehan who was honoured with the Hall of Fame award, Nell Ní Chróinín Singer of the Year Award, Brian & Eithne Vallely will both receive the Special Contribution Award, Paddy O’Brien is this year’s recipient of Composer of the Year award and Caoimhín Ó Fearghaill from An Rinn will be presented with his award as Young Musician of the Year.
Also performing are Tommy Peoples, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Dermot McLoughlin, John Carty, James Carty, Brian McGrath Seán Ó Fearghail, Dónal Clancy, Tomás Ó Gealbháin and Eoiní Ó Suilleabháin.
