THE well known Irish actress Mary McEvoy will open an exhibition of new paintings by Edenderry artist Willie Redmond this Friday at 4.30pm at Aras an Chontae.

Titled “Home Truths” the show is based on the landscapes and waterways around north Offaly. Presented in a style that gives a narrative view on these unique landscapes, the transient nature of light and colour is highlighted through the artist’s high draughtmanship and observation processes. Redmond’s passion and connection for the subject matter and his art is evident. This is Redmond’s first major showing of his work in his native county since an exhibition in Edenderry Library 16 years ago. Since then he has exhibited prolifically in both solo and group exhibitions in Dublin and regionally. The exhibition was awarded through Offaly County Council’s Support to Artists Scheme and it continues until April 1 at Aras an Chontae, opening 9am to 4pm daily.

All are welcome to the opening on Friday March 4.
