AN Edenderry hostelry is set to rock like never before as a new sensational Rock band make their debut on Saturday week.

Byrne’s Oak Wood Inn is the venue for the launch of - R.E.D. Nova - an outfit born out of passion for the music itself.

Until now the musicians involved have traded under the name of Eden, establishing themselves as one of the most popular wedding bands in the country.

But after 10 years of playing to brides and grooms the length and breathe of the country they have decided to make some time to follow their passion for rock.

The thousands who have enjoyed EDEN perform at weddings would have seen a high energy performance that covers all styles of music from an old time waltz to current hits. But it is always ‘the rock set’ that stands out.

So it should not surprise anyone who knows them that the lads from EDEN have decided to put their love for rock music into forming another band dedicated classic and modern rock.

R.E.D. Nova is a musical experience spanning right across all genres of rock, playing all the biggest and best known anthems.

This new band was formed after a number of casual conversations in their wedding wagon as they pounded the highways and byways of Ireland over the last decade.

But before a single chord was struck in rehearsals, a number of set lists were drafted up, edited and fine tuned until only the best songs from the biggest artists remained.

Being busy with EDEN they didn’t want to waste time or become distracted playing numbers that we were never going to perform as part of the R.E.D. NOVA set.

With a plan in place the rehearsal sessions began. Their wide and varied programme will see them take-on and perform everything from The Beatles and Hendrix to The Script and Snowpatrol.

R.E.D. NOVA sees a shuffle about with regards to who plays what.

Rob, Ed and Dave each play a number of instruments and R.E.D. NOVA affords them a great opportunity to showcase these talents. It also adds both visually and audibly to the whole R.E.D. NOVA sound.

The pace is steady, with songs that offer a solid beat and pack a punch. Taking influenced from the giants of the past and present R.E.D. NOVA delivers something fresh to the music scene in the midlands.

There is a freedom in playing rock music that allows a lot more musical expression and R.E.D. NOVA has tapped into this.

You can hear R.E.D. NOVA for yourself at their launch gig on Saturday week January 28 at Byrne’s Pub Edenderry for what looks to be an explosive night and a new beginning for Rob, Ed and Dave.
