On Sunday, June 12 the Bridge House Hotel will host an evening with one of Ireland’s most loved musical treasures, Mary Black. Almost 30 years after the release of Mary’s first solo album, May 6 saw the release for her first new record in 6 years – at her concert in the Bridge House Hotel, Mary will give a taste of her new material along with some classic hits including ‘No Frontier’, ‘Woman’s Heart’ and many more.
For over a quarter of a century, May Black has been a dominant presence in Irish music, both at home and abroad, bringing Irish music, past and present, to an increasingly appreciative and ever growing global audience. Mary has been described by the San Francisco Chronicle as ‘One of the best interpretative singers around’, and with 11 studio albums under her belt which all achieved platinum sales, it’s no wonder that she has performed which music legends such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Joan Baez and Van Morrison, not to mention a host of Irish traditional musicians and singers.
With her vocal prowess and astute song selection it’s guaranteed to be a night to remember! Tickets are available for €25, but why not treat yourself to an overnight stay and dinner in the Bridge House’s Michelin Guide recommended restaurant including a ticket to the show for just €109 per person sharing. Also coming to the Bridge House Hotel on August 1 is a night with the Wolfe Tones. Tickets are available for €25 or stay overnight with dinner and a ticket to the show for just €99 per person sharing.
