The Mire is a specially commissioned play for Bo Leictreach 2012. With dark humour and a mystical undercurrent, The Mire explores love, relationships and our powerlessness to protect the things most precious to us.

In September 2011, Birr Theatre & Arts Centre, in co-operation with Jasango Theatre, Ireland and Selkie Theatre, USA, proudly presented Bo Leictreach: The GreenPlay Festival; an exciting new festival showcasing original 10 Minute GreenPlays by Irish Playwrights. Bo Leictreach is an adaption of Selkie Theatre’s “Electric Cow: The GreenPlay Festival” which debuted in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, June 2011.

Bo Leictreach is supported by Offaly County Council Arts Office, and the Offaly Local Development Company.
