Gorgeous Offaly woman, 24 year old Aoife Masterson has qualified for the final of the Tempted Boutique Model Search competition 2012. Aoife is among fourteen model hopefuls competing in the Dublin final, which will be presented by Triona McCarthy, the Sunday Independent beauty editor, on Sunday May 27, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Northwood in Santry.
Competition judges are the leading fashion stylist Cathy O’Connor, curvy model Vicki Mooney, photographer Maria McGrail, and Rosemary Kearns, owner of the Tempted fashion chain, who have selected their 14 finalists from hundreds of ‘size 16 plus’ women.
Aoife, from Tullamore, now lives and works in Dublin. She adores fashion, an attribute she inherited from her mum, who took the young Aoife on regular shopping trips and nurtured her appreciation for styling and accessorising, and her love of fashion! Always having had curves, Aoife appreciates a timeless classic silhouette which embraces a great figure, while she also likes to make the most of the seasons’ colour trends. Well cut, good fitting clothes is the secret to looking great, Aoife says, whether curvy or slim.
Tempted Boutique is one of the few Irish stores selling top fashion in curvy sizes 16 to 28, and Rosemary Kearns launched her search for a real woman to model the stores’ 2012 summer collection, last March.
“We know there are lots of gorgeous curvy women out there, because we see them every day in our stores, but we didn’t realise what a fantastic response we would get to the competition. Just like everyone else, curvy women look amazing when they have some great fashion design and good styling advice, so we are hugely excited at the prospect of dressing our fourteen finalists for their catwalk debut next week in the Crowne Plaza Hotel”, Rosemary Kearns says.
The Tempted competition winner’s prize is valued at over €3,000 and includes a fashion shoot, €1,000 worth of the latest plus-size fashion, hair and beauty styling, a professional photo shoot and portfolio of images, professional teeth whitening, and a luxurious mini-break in the 4 star Clontarf Castle Hotel to be won by the finalists, runners-up, and the overall Tempted Model of the Year.
Tempted Boutique is donating all of the proceeds from the Model Search Grand Final to St Francis’ Hospice in Raheny.
According to celebrity stylist, Cathy O’Connor, the judges were literally overwhelmed by the number and quality of the girls who entered.
“Our only criteria were that all of the entrants must be a size 16 plus, over 18 years of age, and love clothes and fashion as much as we do! Entries came from all over the country, and selecting just fourteen to compete in the final was incredibly difficult, as the women were simply stunning”, Cathy O’Connor says.
