For the third year in a row a Tullamore Macra member has been selected to represent Offaly Macra at the annual Queen of the Land Festival.
Tara Fourie, originally a native of South Africa and now living in Killeigh, Co Offaly, saw off other hopefuls from the five Macra clubs in Offaly to be chosen as the Offaly Queen 2013.
The results of the other personality interviews on the night in Beretons Pub, Roscrea were: ;Sarah Jane Egan from Ferbane/Banagher for Miss Blue Jeans, Veronica Casey for Miss Macra and Gerard Mahon for Mr Personality, both from Killoughey Macra.
Congratulations were extended to all who will represent Offaly at the upcoming festivals and thanks was expressed to the judges on the night, Ronan Feighery, Gemma Goulding and Aisling Lewis.
The Queen of the Land Festival is in its 49th year and is held in Tullamore in the second weekend in November every year.
