French car maker Peugeot has added a new variant with a 1.6 litre 156bhp turbo-charged petrol engine and six-speed automatic gearbox to its 308 CC line-up.

Positioned as the flagship petrol 308 CC, the new automatic model will be available in SE and GT trim levels, unlike the current THP 140 automatic model which was only available in SE trim level.

Lighter and even more compact than the gearbox it replaces, this new unit has been designed to reduce the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, (around 7% less than the previous model). It also benefits from a boost in refinement and responsiveness.

Two driving modes are possible: automatic, for quiet, stress-free driving which adapts to the user's driving style, and a more active mode thanks to the gearbox's sequential selection control.

On sale now, prices for this new 308 CC model start at 23,595.
