New Mazda6 ready for Geneva

Mazda has announced that a facelifted version of its Mazda6 model will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The new model's revised exterior and interior will be on show at the spring event along with a new 2.0-litre petrol engine with reduced CO2 emissions compared the outgoing unit.

The new 2.0-litre petrol unit will be available with a specially tuned five-speed automatic gearbox. Updated versions of the existing 1.8 and 2.5-litre petrol engines and three power derivatives of the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine will also be available.

Mazda claims the facelifted model will edge further towards premium status with the introduction of the new Mazda "family face", fresh front and rear lamp designs and a sportier appearance.
