Chevrolet join forces with Newspress

Chevrolet, the newest car brand to launch into the Irish market, has announced a tie-up with another of the fastest growing names in the motor industry – Newspress.

In a special event to unveil the Chevrolet Ireland product line-up to the Irish Motoring Writers Association, Newspress announced the launch of newspress.ie – an Irish market version of the UK’s biggest and most powerful online resource for motoring media.

Chevrolet will sponsor Newspress for the first year of newspress.ie, with prominent branding across the site, and a commitment to provide Ireland-specific versions of all of its core press material, tailored to suit the country’s own specification and pricing requirements.

Speaking at the media launch of Chevrolet and newspress.ie, Chevrolet UK and Ireland PR Manager Craig Cheetham said: “We are absolutely delighted that Newspress has identified a real opportunity to grow and develop into Ireland at the same time as Chevrolet. For years, the site has been an essential resource for UK-based automotive journalists and, like Chevrolet, is a well liked and trusted brand.

“It also offers us the ideal platform to get all of our Chevrolet Ireland news, specifically written and produced for the country, hosted on a specific Irish site for Irish media.

“Chevrolet is serious about Ireland – whereas many manufacturers hand out UK-specific PR material and expect Irish media to do their own research into the differences, we, like Newspress, want to offer a package specifically tailored for Ireland, with the right level of detail relevant to the country in its own right.”

Tim Barfoot, Newpress Managing Director added: “Newspress is the leading provider of official automotive content in the UK and has become an essential resource for the motoring media. We look forward to serving to Irish journalists with press releases, images and videos relating specifically to their market for the first time.”

Chevrolet has announced six new models and 10 dealerships across Ireland, with additional dealers and the launch of the Cruze Station wagon to follow later in 2012.
