Fantastic turnout for Kilbeggan Races Best Dressed Lady

Waiting for Video...

Bestselling author, journalist and TV Personality Amanda Brunker arrived in Kilbeggan on Saturday August 11th to judge the Littlewoods Ireland Best Dressed Lady.

Hoping that the Kilbeggan ladies would turn out in style, Amanda was not disappointed as hundreds dressed to impress at this year’s race: “There was a fantastic turnout at the Kilbeggan race and some really fabulous style. I loved how creative women are getting when it comes to fashion, with some of our finalists even making their own headpieces. I was looking out for a classic, polished look which exactly why I chose our winner – she looked effortlessly elegant from head to toe.”

The winner of the Best Dressed Lady competition was Paula Gannon, an art teacher from Athlone. Paula works at St Cuans College in Castleblakeney, Co. Galway and began millinery last year, initially making hats for friends and family. She also designed a number of hats for this year’s Galway Races. “I’m ecstatic, so happy to have won! I have been dressing up for the races for the past 6 to 7 years but have never won a Best Dressed Lady competition before – I’m delighted to say the least! I have developed a real passion for millinery and this year, I really plan to dedicate more time to it.”
