Tullamore Active Retirement Assocation Spring Holiday this year is to Ostan Loch Alton, in Gortnahork, Co Donegal from April 26 to 29 inclusive. Four nights B/B with dinner each evening. Cost is n275 per person sharing. This includes coach pick up from Court Hotel wirh coach tours each day during the holiday and return journey to Court Hotel on March 30. Non members are welcome.
Important Talk for Parents
Parents who would like to find out more information about a whole host of issues which could affect their child are invited to attend a very important Information Evening which has been organised jointly by the Parents Associations of Ballinamere and Mucklagh National Schools in the Bridge House Hotel this evening Wednesday, March 10 at 7.30pm.
Two experts in the field of child development, Angela McCabe, a Neuro-Development and Sound Therapist and Sean Callagy, HANDLE Screener and Dorn and Bowen Practitioner, will address topics such as: learning difficulties; anxiety states; autistic features; hyperactivity; dyslexia; unknown fears; social phobias; balance and co-ordination; lack of confidence and poor con-centration. Tullamore Toastmasters
Tullamore Toastmasters had a pleasant meeting on Thursday last. The speeches were interesting and the topics excellent.
A member of Athlone Toastmasters gave a very good speech entitled the 'North Wind' which was used in the evaluation speech contest. The winner of that contest was Glen Quinn. Next meeting is on Thursday, March 18 at 8.30pm in Day's Hotel Main Street. All welcome.
Tullamore Comhaltas
Tullamore CCE's annual concert takes place in the Bridge House Hotel on Friday, March 12 at 8pm. The concert features Noel Battle, Mick Foster & Moira Fraiser, Shane Lynam, Noel Devery and dancers, The Dalys and a selection of tunes from the junior and senior classes. A new DVD on bodhran making featuring Bill Daly master bodhran maker will also be launched.
Music sessions continue on the second Tuesday of every month in Joe Lee's and on the last Friday of the month in Annie Kelly's. Tullamore CCE Gig Rig group playing at the St Patrick's Day Parade.

The club will be marching in this years St. Patricks Day parade, everyone will be meeting in Dunnes Stores, Bridge Centre carpark at 11am and the pick up point after the parade will be at Beverley's Hair Salon on the Arden Road.

The numbers drawn in the lotto were 5, 15, 21 and 24, with the bonus number being 25. There was no jackpot winner and three people matched three numbers - Brian Garvey, Bernard Costello and Joe Mann. The next draw is this Saturday, March 13 in O'Connor's with the prize money standing at n5,300 (jackpot n3,800 & bonus n1,500).
Tullamore in conjunction with Offaly county board will start a new Club-School Link in all of the Tullamore Schools. Each child will receive 18 weeks coaching in Football, hurling & camogie. Schools involved are Scoil Eoin Phoil, Scoil Bhride, Scoil Mhuire, St Philomenas, Gaelscoil an Eiscir Riada, Chaleville, Tullamore Educate Together & St Josephs. All coaches are fully qualified and have received Level One Awards in both codes. This scheme is fully funded by Tullamore & Offaly GAA.

Well done to the senior and junior hurlers last weekend who both recorded wins in the first rounds of the league. On Friday night the senior hurlers defeated Ballinamere on a scoreline of 2-6 to 0-11. Scorers Edwin Finnerty 1-2, Shaun Martin 1-1, Jody Duffy 0-2 and Anthony Heffernan 0-1. On Saturday afternoon the junior hurlers had a comprehensive victoy over Gracefield on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-11.
Well done to all coaches who attended the coaching course on Saturday morning. There was a great turnout from the club. Thanks to Carina Haverty and Alan Mullhall for a very successful course.
Tullamore U-21 footballers will play St Broughan's in the semi-final on Wednesday, March 17 at 3.30pm. Best of luck to the team and team management. Please all support the boys.
