Rhode Notes
Ballybryan Progressive 25 There were nine Tables at the Card game last Thursday night, February 25. The winners were Olive Scally, Peter KIlmurray and Patsy Murphy. The winners of the Intermedaite game were Claire Quinn and Ber Malone and the last game was won by Peter Kilmurrary.
Free admission next week is for Olive Scally. The winners of the Raffle were Nuala Quinn, Claire Quinn and Jim Broughan. The card game continues every Thursday night at 8.30pm in the school hall and your support is appreciated.
Rhode Ladies Football
Rhode ladies football club are running their annual fundraiser (Silver Circle) in O'Tooles Lounge, commencing with the first draw on St Patrick's night and each week for five weeks.
Irish Classes
Adult Irish classes will be held in Ballybryan NS every Thursday night at 7.30pm. All are welcome. Contact 046 97 37365.
Rhode and Croghan Community Games
On March 13 the teams who won the Junior Quiz will take part in the County Final in Ferbane. Time to be confirmed and March 13 is also the date when all projects will be judged in Ferbane. For further details on any of the above please contact Dominic on 087 2307944.
Rhode GAA
Offaly U-21 footballers were beaten after extra-time by Carlow in the opening round of the Leinster Championship. See match report in Express Sport. On the team from Rhode was Anton Sullivan who was the victim of some very cynical fouls which went unpunished.
Rhode junior 'B' footballers recorded a good home win over Ballinagar in their first game of the year last Sunday.
Fixtures: Division 1 Football League Rhode v Shamrocks in Rhode on Friday at 7.30pm. Division 2 Rhode v Raheen in Geashill on Saturday at 4pm. Division 3 Rhode v Shamrocks in Mucklagh on Sunday at 12 noon.

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA lotto for the week ending (February 28) for a jackpot of €10,200. The numbers drawn were 9, 11, 23 and 28. One person matched three numbers – Mary Masterson, Killure, Rhode and she received €200.
Sympathy is extended to the O'Reilly family, Coologue, Daingean on the death of their mother Margaret, wife of Kevin whose remains were interred in St Mary's Cemetery, Daingean on Saturday. May she rest in peace.
