Midlands Fibromylagia support group marks 10th anniversary

There was a good attendance at the Midlands Fibromyalgia Support Groups Annual General Meeting which was held on Tuesday March 27 at 7.30pm in the Day Care Centre in Tullamore.
Independent Observer on the night was Martina Kavanagh. Cathy Clear, Chairperson opended proceedings with her report, followed by the Secretaries & Treasurers report. Next was the election of a new committee. The new committee is Chairperson, Cathy Clear, Secretary, Edel Cunningham, Treasurer, Orla Fitzpatrick and PRO Martina Grace.
After the AGM the Midlands Fibromyalgia Support Group had a party to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Voluntary Organisation. The Group was formed in February 2002 by local lady Margaret Duffy who was present on the night. Cathy made a presentation to Margaret and thanked her for setting up the Group and Helpline and acknowledged all the work that went into setting up and keeping a volunteer based group going. Margaret thanked everybody for the presentation and said she was delighted to have started the group and hopes that it goes from strength to strength.
The Midlands Fibromyalgia Support Group meet the last Tuesday of every month in the Day Care Centre, Tullamore at 7.30pm and in O’Loughlins Hotel, Portlaoise the first Wednesday of every month from 12.15-1.30pm.
The Helpline runs every Tues from 10-1pm freephone 1 800 20 10 68.
