FEILE
The Feile team, families and friends all had the most enjoyable week-end in Shannon, Co Clare with the most welcoming of host clubs, Wolfe Tones na Sionna and do they know how to do hospitality. All the boys were taken so well taken care of at their host family homes and they presented the KK GAA club with a lovely brass plaque and an individual pennant to each of the boys to commemorate their stay.
The team had their match on Friday evening at 3pm. It began the weekend very well with a challenging game which saw KK win. Unfortunately things didn't go according to plan on Saturday with a very narrow defeat in injury time by a goal by Doora-Barefield which left us a point wanting when the final whistle went. No one can deny that the boys had their work cut out for them when we came up against Kilmacud Crokes and we suffered a second defeat on the day.
The lads were very down-hearted following their defeats but the spirit of Feile kicked in and in no time they were chatting with their new friends in Wolfe Tones and meeting their Host families for the week-end.
Once again a huge thank you to anyone who helped in our fund-raising efforts, who sponsored the team financially or with gear, drinks or snacks, to the parents and friends who travelled to support the boys and added great atmosphere to the games and especially to the team its self.
