Kilcormac to play host All Ireland Trout Angling Match

The annual All Ireland Trout Angling Match for anglers with special needs run by the Friends of Loch An Dochais takes place at Loch An Dochais, Kilcormac on Sunday May 27.

This is the sixteenth year of this competition and the lake now has the capacity of 43 angling spaces with ample car parking available.

Anglers will be competing for the Mary Robinson Perpetual Trophy and other prizes. The usual rules apply for this year’s match with fishing from 11am to 2.45pm and bag limit of four trout per angler per day.

All legitimate angling methods are allowed, an entry fee of €10 payable at lake shore.

The committee’s decision is final in the event of any dispute.

Presentation of prizes will take place in St Joseph’s Community Centre, Kilcormac at 3.30m.

A youth trout angling competition follows the All Ireland match. Fishing is from 3pm to 5pm with a bag limit of 4 trout per angler, the entry fee is €5 and all legitimate angling methods are allowed (only anglers entered in this competition are allowed to fish on the lake during this period). Children are to be accompanied by an adult.

Both competitions are kindly sponsored by Bord na Mona, Kilcormac Development Association and Inland Fisheries Ireland. All enquiries for both competitions to Denis O’Driscoll Secretary, Friends of Loch An Dochais, on 057 91 35328.
