JCSP awards presented in Clara

The annual Junior Certificate School Programme awards ceremony took place last Tuesday (May 15) in the School Library.

All the recipients were students who will be sitting their Junior Certificate examinations in June 2012.

The recipient of the JCSP 5A Participant Award was Tara Cornally. This main award is presented to the student who excels in the 5A’s: Attitude, Attendance, Academics, Arts and Activities.

There were two additional awards. The Maths Award was presented to Arlene Johnson and the Geography Award was presented to Ryan Kelly.

The Junior Certificate School Programme is a national programme of the Department of Education and Skills.

During Junior Cycle the students participated in the JCSP Profiling System and were presented with their Personal Profiles on the night.

Included in the profiles were a Certificate of Participation, Character Reference and a List of Statements indicating overall achievement in subject areas.

Parents, families and school staff attended the event to join in the celebrations.
