CONNACHT CHAMPIONS
A huge win for the Lions last Sunday away to their nearest rivals in Connacht's Junior 1B league, Creggs, leaves the West Offaly side sitting proudly at the top of their division. It has been a marvellous year for the Lions losing only once, against Loughrea back in November, on their way to the title. A 26-3 victory away to the second placed side is definitive proof that the cream has reached the top. The season's statistics are exceptional – scoring 41 tries while conceding only 3 the Lions amassed 294 points with only 35 against. It's a magnificent achievement for a club in its infancy – founded in 2005. Well done to all involved in West Offaly Lions!
FERBANE'S GENEROUS RESPONSE TO HAITI
The Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny have expressed their deep thanks to the people of the parish who have responded so positively to their Haiti Relief Appeal. n15,000 was raised by events and activities organised within the area and another n15,000 was donated directly to the Sisters in Ferbane.
Sr Maeve Guinan assured mass goers that every last cent of their n30,000 is currently being put to direct use in bringing relief to the needy and homeless in Haiti.

All monies raised are utilised to enhance the out of school activities available to the children of St Cynoc's. It's always a great night and even if your bowling skills are not up to scratch you could always win one or more of the many spot prizes on offer.
