Table Quiz a success

A special table quiz and raffle held at the High Chaparrall in Geashill last week has raised €2,150 for Child Aid. Organised Tommy Spollen said he would like to thank everyone who turned up to support the event, the sponsors, John Hackett and the staff of the High Chapparall for their great help on the night. Winning team were Shane Carroll, Jacinta Gallagher, Mark Gorman, Linda Fitzpatrick and David Crombie who kindly handed back the winners prize of n120. Runners Up were Eamonn and Anne Guilfoyle and Dermot and Tommy Hyland who also handed back the runners up prize of n80.

RAHEEN GAA CLUB

Lotto: The numbers drawn in last Monday night's Lotto were 1, 6, 8 and 23. There was no Jackpot Winner and one Match 3 winner (Jonathan Moore C/O Joe Murphy] (n200]. Next Week's Jackpot is n3,200 and the draw will take place in High Chaparel, Geashill on Monday, March 15.

Supper Dance: Raheen GAA are holding a Supper Dance and presentation of medals to the all conquering League and Championship winning Raheen Hurlers on Friday, March 19 at 8pm in the Bridge House, Tullamore. Music will be provided by Lightening Strikes. Tickets are priced at n25.

Division 3 HL: Raheen Hurlers, who were making their debut in Division 3 following their success in winning Division 4 last year drew their opening league fixture against Edenderry on a scoreline of 0-8 to 0-8. Raheen: Padraig Direen, Craig O'Halloran, Eoghan Bolton, Sean Martin Pierce, Steve Coughlan, Conor Dunne, Fionain Direen, Danny McEvoy, Michael James Pierce (0-1), Keith Quinn, Jason Hassett (0-5), Paddy Arnold, Eana Direen, Cathal Maher (0-1) , Martin Nugent. Football Leagues: On Saturday the Intermediate Footballers open their Division 2 League campaign against Rhode in Geashill at 4:30pm, then on Sunday the Junior Footballers start their Division 4 League campaign when they travel to Pullough to take on Erin Rovers at 12noon. All support would be appreciated.

Thank You: Former Raheen and Offaly player Paul Mulvihill would like to express his thanks to all those who contributed to his recent fundraising effort for Temple Street Childrens Hospital whereby he took part in the Rhode Boxing Tournament and saw him raise the tidy sum of n1,655. Paul would also like to thank all those from the club who travelled to support him in the tournament which proved to be decisive in helping him win his bout.

Committee Meeting: In Raheen GAA Club will take place this Wednesday evening (March 10) at 8:30pm in the Clubhouse, Geashill. All committee members are asked to attend.
